Melissa Wilson graduated from Radford University with a B.S. in Exercise Sport & Health Education with a concentration in Sports Medicine in 2004. After graduation she went on to work in a cardiac rehab clinic with cardiac and stroke patients. During this time Melissa had the opportunity to work with the Sentara Norfolk General’s Surgical Group as an Exercise Physiologist. Moving on to manage a personal training studio she was able to influence client’s physical fitness practices and make a difference in their quality of life working in a one-on-one environment. While personal training, she decided to further her education and attend the Cayce/Reilly School of Massotherapy. Through the Cayce-Reilly Institute Melissa became proficient in therapeutic massage and pain management. After graduating she has continued to expand her knowledge of massage to include Reflexology, Raindrop Technique, and Myofascial Release. Most recently Melissa has received her certification in Advanced Myoskeletal Techniques. As a Certified Myoskeletal Therapist she can offer her clients significant relief from chronic pains such as complex neck, back, hip, rotator cuff, carpal tunnel, TOS, SI joint, plantar fasciitis pain and more. She is now able to combine her knowledge of numerous modalities to provide exceptional service to her clients.

Maria graduated from the Advanced Fuller School of Massage Therapy in 2011 and is certified through the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork.
After graduating, she was employed at Body Logic Massage & Chiropractic in Virginia Beach where she gained most of her clinical experience. She has performed therapy for patients experiencing and recovering from various muscular dysfunctions associated with overuse, poor posture and stress, as well as sports injuries and motor vehicle accidents.
While Maria enjoys working in a clinical setting, she has also managed a practice of her own where she was able to incorporate various modalities such as Sports and Deep Tissue massage, Trigger Point Therapy, Myofascial Release, Prenatal and Swedish massage techniques.
In order for her clients to live happier and healthier lives, Maria has worked with them to help overcome acute and chronic muscular pain, improve mobility and decrease stress. She has had a great success helping clients, who suffered with tension headaches, chronic neck/back pain, sciatica, rotator cuff injuries and other conditions.
Maria is constantly expanding her knowledge of Massage Therapy by taking continuing education classes. In 2012, she completed a Thai Massage course at Cayce-Reilly Institute. To help Maria communicate closely with other health care professionals regarding specific needs of each individual client’s existing health conditions and personal treatment plans, Maria became a Certified Medical Massage Practitioner in 2014. She also recently completed the Neil Asher Trigger Point Therapy program for Frozen Shoulder and received her CPR, AED First Aid certification.
Combining years of clinical experience, compassion and careful listening, Maria works to ensure each therapy session is productive and meaningful for each of her clients. Her ultimate goal for her clients is to reduce their pain, decrease stress, improve mobility and help them become more physically and emotionally self-aware, in order for each client to reach their goal to a more happy and healthy life.
Colleen received her training at Advanced Fuller School of Massage in 2012 where she took advanced courses in Sports Massage, Deep Tissue, Shiatsu, and Myofascial Release. She has a love for learning and sharing what she knows about healing the body with her clients. She believes the therapeutic relationship between therapist and client is very important. Working together, we can address the body as a whole and help restore balance. She will identify areas that may not be functioning properly and work to correct imbalances before they escalate into pain.
She is proficient in the use of Ashley Black’s Fasciablaster, which is a cutting edge tool specifically designed to address fascial restrictions, adhesions and distortions which can be the root cause of a myriad of unanswered questions about your body.
Her prior experience includes working with the performers of Cirque de Soleil for 5 weeks during the summer of 2015, back stage with the So You Think You Can Dance Tour, country and pop bands that have come through our area and a few professional and amateur athletes. She worked for 2 years with a local chiropractor, and is now has her full time practice at unify Health & Fitness Studio.
